Nos complace invitarles a participar del 5to Congreso Internacional del Cóndor Andino – 1er Simposio de Buitres de las Américas (5to CICA – 1er SBA), un evento dedicado a progresar en la investigación, conservación y gestión de estas fascinantes aves carroñeras.
El 5to CICA – 1er SBA se celebrará del 17 al 21 de marzo de 2025 en Sucre, Bolivia, y en él tendremos la oportunidad de intercambiar conocimiento sobre los buitres del Nuevo Mundo, dando continuidad a las colaboraciones existentes, y generando iniciativas sólidas basadas en evidencia empírica. De especial interés, el evento abordará de manera proactiva la elaboración de políticas específicas para mejorar el estado de conservación de los buitres del Nuevo Mundo, ya que será el escenario del primer taller rumbo a contar con un plan de acción multi-especies para la conservación de esta familia de buitres.
Los trabajos presentados en el 5to CICA – 1er SBA se publicarán en un número especial de Vulture News – la revista del Grupo de Especialistas en Buitres de la CSE de la UICN.

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 5th International Congress of the Andean Condor – 1st Vultures of the Americas Symposium (5th ICAC – 1st VAS), an event dedicated to advancing the research, conservation and management of these fascinating avian scavengers.
The 5th ICAC – 1st VAS will be held from March 17-21, 2025 in Sucre, Bolivia, and there we will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge about New World vultures, giving continuity to existing collaborations, and generating sound initiatives based on empirical evidence. Of special interest, the event will proactively address the development of specific policies to improve the conservation status of New World vultures, as it will be the setting for the first workshop towards a multi-species action plan for the conservation of this vulture family.
The proceedings of the 5th ICAC – 1st VAS will be published in a special issue of Vulture News – the journal of the IUCN SSC Vulture Specialist Group.
